As usual, I have been sifting through my favorite suppliers, looking for deals that help everyone save while improving their beauty and skin care options.
I saw the price of oil today and just about passed out. The need to economize in every aspect of our lives will be constant as society moves away from unbridled, wasteful consumption and adapts sustainability as its goal. Concerns for our budgets and environment will have to work hand in hand. There has never a better reason use products that are not only natural but also keep wasteful packaging to a minimum. There is no need to completely do without, though. Looking for the best sales and purchasing our favorite cosmetics and skin care items in refillable containers saves money. Online Garage SaleDon't miss a chance to pick up overstocks and discontinued bath and body products from my favorite people at Coastal Scents. Check out their clearance area too! If you create your own body sprays or scented cleansers, fragrance oils can work just as well as essential oils. Just blend with a little distilled water and spritz to your heart's content. It is less expensive than pricey perfumes. The same spray can be used in your linens and lingerie drawers! I just blended a coconut fragrance oil with lotion and bath gel bases to create a layered scent that stays with me for hours. It is important to keep your sense of well being intact as you watch the prices at the pump rise. Maintain your look, and outlook, with creativity, saving money and the environment, in the process!
I sipped coffee and watched the Today show this morning. Meredith Viera interviewed Hillary Clinton. As Hillary talked about her favorite travel pillow and exuded her often ignored warmth, something was revealed that most will probably miss. Her realization of a dream that has been closed to women in this country is within reach, she is fighting a good battle from a position of strength. She glows. Her skin glows from within. In the light of personal attacks, of knowing she would be the first female president in the country, she beams with the glow that only power and fulfillment can bring. Now, if we could bottle that we would all look great. Since that probably isn't possible, for now, I am tempted to write her to ask what she uses. Of course, I would only do that after the elections, but I really want to know. If I can get just a hint surrounding just one of her favorite products I could figure out the ingredients and have skin that glowed like that too.Power and the internal fire that burns with it keeps us youthful and active. If you haven't seen it, look at the last pictures of Benazir Bhutto, before she was assassinated for leaving the carefully crafted gender oppression of a religious society. Her skin was lovely. As you consider your New Year's Resolutions, why not make a promise to yourself to gain a little personal power of your own? I bet you will glow too.
